What does the year 2006 hold in store for online casinos? We're not psychics, but we're going to guess that people will keep on gambling at internet casinos, online gambling companies will keep going public, some online casinos will merge with others, some might get sued, some might be overvalued, some might undervalued, and many more online casinos will be launched to try and compete with the others already existing. Oh, and you can make a safe bet that online casino groups like Golden Palace will continue their wacky marketing techniques and Party Gaming will continue to dominate the online poker sector. It seems the online casinos industry is coming to resemble so many other industries, with buyouts, lawsuits, mergers, acquisitions negotiations and stock offerings. 2006 will likely be a signature year, unlike many others, because as more and more online casinos go public you could see the rise of a number of super-online casino conglomerates which could come to totally dominate the online gambling world. Of course, nothing is guaranteed and if online casino stocks or wagers or revenues dip 2006 could end up being just like any other. How the big casinos perform will determine whether the smaller, more independent online casinos will be launched, get a share of the overall market, or choose to specialize on certain games. No single online casino's success or failure is of such a stature and level that success for it means success for others, or failure for it failure for others. However, if online casinos continue to grow, the bigger ones will get bigger and likely gobble up some of the smaller ones, make them into skins, or branch out into less online-gambling oriented fare. So as online casinos look forward to 2006, you should too if you are interested or an online casinos gambling enthusiast. |
