Online casinos are out there for themselves...is this what is the truth, or what politicians opposed to online casinos gambling would want us to believe? There are no shortage of politicians in North America and elsewhere, like Australia, who are so opposed to online gambling that they are willing to resort to what some refer to as demagoguery in order to get their views on online casinos gambling not only across, but enshrined as the law of the lands they help to govern. It is undeniable: online casinos are out to make money. They provide a service, and sometimes people win the money they are trying to win, at others they lose big time...but do so knowing the risks inherent in gambling, either online or at an actual casino. What are we to do about the quandary online casinos are in? The online gambling industry is growing in revenues and influence, yet the citizens of some of the most cash-handy countries on the planet face efforts to prevent them from wagering their money at online casinos. A case can be made for preventing gambling by college students, who don't have that much money to begin with generally and who often resort to stealing from roommates, friends and family when they can't afford to eat the food in the student union. But the average citizen cum gambling over the internet enthusiast - should he or she be prevented from gambling at online casinos by the politicians they elected, especially when that person didn't elect that person to ban a form of relatively safe entertainment for them. Politicians love to wax poetic to make themselves sound knowledgeable, but if they were truly as knowledgeable as they like to think of themselves as being, especially in the USA, they would be able to see the enormous financial potential afforded from an online gambling industry regulated and operating from the United States serving users all over the world. If only they thought of the taxes they could extract from an online casino, all that revenue for national or state coffers that could be gained. |
